Day 135 – 366 Things to discover in the Southern Highlands

DAY ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE Surveyor General Inn

Discovering all of the history that lies in the Southern Highlands is quite a task! There is so much that has been preserved and there is much to see.

Today we would like you to discover the Surveyor General Inn in Berrima, an old country pub where you may have enjoyed a quick drink, or had a weekend lunch but, either way, you are sure to have been mesmerised by its old world charm and character… What you might not have known is that it is Australia’s Oldest Continuously Lisenced Inn (established in 1834)!

You can read some fabulous history about the building by clicking here http://www.highlandsnsw.com.au/surveyorgeneral/inn.html or visit the Inn, absorb its beauty and speak to the current owners, the Durney family, and find out what they know!
